LULAC: League of United Latin American Citizens
It is the oldest and well respected Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States of America. It was founded in 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas by a group of men and women willing to work together to fight injustices of mostly Mexican Americans who often experienced discrimination due to lack of knowledge of the English language, education, and ethic background. the founder of LULAC created an organization that empowers its members to develop opportunities where they are needed the most.

History
LULAC was founded on February 17, 1929 in Corpus Christi. It is the oldest and most widely respected Hispanic civil rights organization in the United States.
LULAC advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health, and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs.
